How This Site Works

Editorial Standards

Who writes this site, how the work is done, and what it is not.

Thrive Next Life publishes practical, readable content for people thinking seriously about what comes next. The goal is not to tell you what to think. It is to help you understand a subject well enough to ask better questions and make a better-informed decision.

This page explains who writes the site, how the work is actually done, where it falls short today, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Editorial Purpose

Everything here is written for one kind of reader: someone with experience behind them who is still building something. That shapes what gets published and what does not. The aim is not to have the most articles on a topic, or to rank for a phrase and fill the space underneath it. An article earns its place when it helps a reader see a decision more clearly than they did before.

Where a subject is genuinely uncertain, the preference is to say so rather than round it off into advice.

Who Writes Thrive Next Life

Steve Lewis personally writes the articles on this site. He is the founder of Thrive Next Life and a quality management professional with more than 30 years of experience — work centred on systems, auditing, continuous improvement, and the discipline of asking what evidence supports a conclusion.

That background is not a licence to practise in any of the fields this site covers. He is not a physician, dietitian, therapist, financial adviser, retirement planner or lawyer, and nothing here is written as though he were. You can read more about his background on the About page.

How Experience Informs the Work

Three decades of working inside systems teaches a particular way of approaching a problem. You learn to look past a single symptom to the process behind it. You learn to ask what evidence supports a conclusion before accepting it. You learn to listen before diagnosing, to separate assumptions from facts, and to keep refining an explanation when new information turns up.

That is the method behind the writing here. It is a way of approaching information — not subject-matter authority in every topic this site covers.

Research and Sourcing

For factual claims — particularly in health and income topics — the standard is to rely on credible primary sources, or on well-established secondary sources where those are appropriate. When a claim depends on research, data, medical guidance, financial rules or any other checkable external fact, it should be verified before an article is published or revised.

Being straightforward about the current state: not every article on this site meets that standard yet. Many were written before it was set, and older articles do not display source citations consistently. As articles are reviewed and updated, sourcing is being made more explicit where the subject warrants it. Where you find a factual claim without a source, treat it as a claim still owed one.

Health and Income Content

Health articles on this site are not reviewed by a healthcare professional. Income and financial articles are not reviewed by a financial professional. There is no medical review board, no financial review board and no fact-checking staff behind this site. There is one person writing carefully — and saying so plainly is part of the standard.

These articles are educational and informational. For anything that turns on your particular circumstances — a symptom, a medication, a diagnosis, a tax question, a retirement decision, an investment — use a qualified professional who can look at your situation properly.

For the formal limitations that apply to site content, see our Disclaimers.

AI-Assisted Work

Steve may use software and AI tools to assist with research, organisation, editing or production. He remains responsible for what is published under his name: the judgement, the argument and the errors are his.

For the site's formal position on artificial intelligence, see our AI Policy.

Corrections and Updates

Articles are revised when facts change, when better information becomes available, when a reader identifies an error, or when an article no longer reflects the standards described on this page.

If you find something wrong, please say so through the contact page. It is read. There is no published corrections log, and not every revision carries a visible date, so neither is claimed here.

Commercial Relationships

This site may contain affiliate relationships, sponsorships, commercial partnerships, product recommendations, and coverage of software and platforms.

The standard is simple: a commercial relationship should not determine the editorial conclusion of an article. If a tool is the right answer it gets recommended, and if it is not, it does not — a commission should not change that. There is no separate board policing it. It is a commitment made in public, which is the point of writing it down.

The policies that govern commercial and legal matters are collected in the Legal Center.

What This Site Is, and Is Not

Thrive Next Life is educational, editorial and practical. It is not a substitute for individualised professional advice, and it is not intended to be read as one. Use it to understand a subject; use a qualified professional to decide what to do about your own situation.

The formal terms are set out in our Disclaimers, AI Policy and the wider Legal Center.
